The Karnataka unit of the BJP slammed the former Congress chief, accusing him of having a “creepy obsession” with “successful & self-made women”.
“Congress Clown Prince Rahul Gandhi now has a dangerous & creepy obsession with successful & self-made women. Frustrated by constant rejections by Indians, Rahul Gandhi has sunk to a new low of demeaning India’s Pride Aishwarya Rai,” Karnataka Congress wrote on X (formally Twitter).
BJP’s attack on his arch-rival comes after Rahul Gandhi claimed that only OBCs, Dalits, and Backward Class people, who represent 73 per cent of the total population of the country, were nowhere seen during the mega Ram Mandir event.
“Did you see the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram Temple? Was there a single OBC face? There was Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, and Narendra Modi,” Rahul Gandhi had said.
“People who constitute 73 per cent of the total population of the country were nowhere seen during the event. The BJP would never want them to assume the reins of the country,” the Congress scion added.
He further said that ‘Aishwarya Rai would be dancing’ while Amitabh Bachchan will do ‘Balle Balle’.
He has mentioned Aishwarya in his speech several times
The BJP took a vitriolic swipe at Rahul Gandhi calling him a “fourth-generation dynast, with zero achievements”.
“A fourth-generation dynast, with zero achievements, now resorts to slurs against Aishwarya Rai, who has brought more glory to India & than Rahul Gandhi’s entire family,” it said.
Earlier, singer Sona Mohapatra hit out at Rahul Gandhi for his comments calling them “demeaning”.
“What’s with politicians demeaning women in their speeches to get some brownie points in a sexist landscape? Dear Rahul Gandhi, sure someone has demeaned your own mother, sister similarly in the past & irrespective you ought to know better? Also, Aishwarya Rai dances beautifully,” Mohapatra said.
