Sonakshi Sinha recently reflected on her early career days and a memorable encounter with superstar Salman Khan when she was just starting out. The actress, who was in college at the time, proudly shared her first job experience as a volunteer at a fashion show, earning a humble salary of Rs 3000 for her service as an usher.
In an interview with Mashable India, Sonakshi described how she was engaged as a volunteer through her fashion designing course during her college years, a role that involved guiding attendees to their seats at the prestigious show.It was during one of these events that she happened to cross paths with Salman Khan and his brother,Arbaaz Khan.
Recalling the amusing exchange, Sonakshi revealed that Salman inquired about her presence at the event and whether she was being paid for her services. She confirmed that she was, and when Salman asked about her salary, she candidly disclosed that it was Rs 3000. In response, Salman burst into laughter and jokingly suggested that she should use her earnings to buy him a gift.
Sonakshi humorously recounted the incident, saying that to this day, she hasn’t presented Salman Khan with a gift because she pondered what she could possibly give the megastar with just Rs 3000.
Interestingly, during this meeting, Arbaaz Khan recognised Sonakshi’s potential and informed her that he was working on a project where she would be a perfect fit. Approximately a year and a half later, Salman and Arbaaz reached out to her, offering her a role in ‘Dabangg,’ which ultimately marked her impressive debut in Bollywood. The film, directed by Abhinav Kashyap, not only launched her acting career but also earned the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
